De leverancier BDesigns gaat speciaal voor mij blauwe tankstickers maken. Ik stuur daarvoor een sample van mijn oude sticker naar hem op. Ik kan de kwaliteit t.o.v. concurrent CX500-Shop.de niet inschatten, maar ik weet wel dat de prijs aanzienlijk lager is. Deze is namelijk rond de 50 Euro plus verzendkosten.

Ik ga zelf een setje bestellen. Als er meerdere mensen zijn die ook graag blauwe stickers willen hebben, kunnen we samen bestellen. Dat scheelt in de verzendkosten. Ook als je de bestaande rode stickers wilt hebben, lijkt me dat wel mogelijk.

Zijn dat deze voor een Custom?

En ook de stickers voor de zijdeksels?

De stickers zijn voor een CX500Z. Ik denk dat ze ook passen op de A en B types, maar niet op de C(ustom).

Voor sticker van de C kun je (redelijk goedkoop) terecht bij Pelders in Drunen. Ook vaak te vinden op beurzen etc.

Ik heb wat navraag gedaan bij BDesigns over de kwaliteit van de stickers en de prijs. Mocht je geïnteresseerd zijn om gezamenlijk te bestellen, laat het dan even weten. Over twee weken ga ik bestellen.

De prijzen:
Tanksticker: $79,13 CAD (Canadese dollars; ongeveer 49,47 Euro)
Complete decal set: $101,90 (Canadese dollars; ongeveer 63,69 Euro)
Verzendkosten*: $8,00 CAD (Canadese dollars; ongeveer 5,00 Euro)

* Verzendkosten zijn bij benadering, incl. verzekering, per persoon die meedoet aan deze groepsaankoop. Ik had gehoopt dat de verzendkosten bij grotere aantallen evenredig lager zouden zijn, maar dat blijkt helaas wat tegen te vallen (verzenden is normaal $9,50 p.st.). De verzendkosten van mijn huis naar jouw huis komen er ook nog bij.



Kwaliteit algemeen

I will address different quality concerns as follows:


Durability
I use a thermal (resin) printing process on my decals. Some competitors use thermal (more durable and slightly more expensive than solvent inkjet) and some use solvent based inkjet printing. Colour
It is not possible for any supplier of this type of product to get an exact, 100% match in all cases. Most of the time you can, but not always. Materials that existed 15 to 30 years ago may not exist anymore. If someone says they can get an exact match to OEM 100% of the time, they are not being honest. I spend a lot of time evaluating colour matches using indoor and outside (natural) lighting. If possible, I obtain NOS (unapplied) OEM decals to create the artwork and colour match to them. If not available, I use a Customer's parts to duplicate the artwork and match the colour to. If the colours are too faded, I will not match to those parts and will look for another source for colour matching. I sometimes use multiple colours overlaid to achieve the colour that is the best match to the OEM (even if this means slightly more expense). On average, I would say the range of colour matching would go from a 85% match, up to a 100% match. An average match would be around 95%. Most people would be more than happy with matchings in this area.


Accuracy of lines and Measurements
Any supplier will have the same issues that I would, but the following is what I strive to achieve. When using NOS (unapplied) OEM decals, the variance on size and line work I would get should be no greater than .25mm on small decals, and .5 on large decals when comparing to the original OEM decal that I worked with. The machine cuts within .12mm. When using customer's parts, there are many variances to deal with. Decals on both sides of a tank for example, may not be applied the same way or in the same position from one side to the other, during manufacturing. One side may have been stretched more than the other (which can make decals narrower and longer too). Some decals are applied crooked or wavy. What I do in this instance is use either; measured averages, the most common dimension; or the best judgment. There may be slight variations when comparing to an OEM (if one can be found). Regardless of the method, you should not be able to tell a different shape or line work from one of our reproductions when compared next to an OEM decal.

The other service I do that I don't think anyone else does, is create a dimensional "map" (Decal Placement Guidelines) of where the decals belong, where and how to place them. I feel this is important because if a decal is not placed where it was originally intended to be placed, the result might not look correct. I am not able to do this in cases where I worked from OEM decals, unless a customer has been able to supply information.
